DORIS during the construction phase

1974

The storage ring DORIS is build as an electron-positron collider for high energy physics. From start on the synchrotron radiation is used at two detectors.

1981

The synchrotron radiation laboratory HASYLAB come into operation, using the bending magnet beamlines.

1991

One of the long straights is changed into one weakly bend arc, in which seven insertion devices found their place [bypass]. In the second straight the very successful ARGUS detector is operating until 1993 for high energy physics.

1993

DORIS is running as a dedicated source for synchrotron radiation.
